Congratulations and thanks to all the swimmers who took part in the sponsored swim in April 2010.
This event was to raise money for two things - firstly, to help one of our swimmers, Maria Steffanini, to raise money for a trip to South Africa, in connection with the Guiding Movement, helping local orphans. The second thing is to help to get the club some sturdier water polo goals - the standard has improved so we need something a bit more robust for all those scores!
The total amount of lengths swum was an unbelievable 2,817 - so times this by 25 metres per length = 70,425 metres which is just over the distance of a Channel swim to France - and back again - plus a bit!!
That's amazing - the last sponsored swim was up Mount Everest and back down again!
