As a Club, we strive to keep our subscription rates low so that we can reach families from across the local area.
We are deeply appreciative of the financial help that these local businesses have given us, often over a number of years.
This assistance has helped us to at least break even on our annual galas and presentation evenings, and also to purchase large equipment that we would otherwise not have been able to afford, such as the water polo goals, hats, balls, whistles, etc - and these are VERY popular with the swimmers!
We have to fund the training for the teachers, who are all unpaid volunteers, from the first course that they take to gain their ASA qualification (in the region of £300+), to the Continuous Professional Development seminars, that cost about £40 per teacher.
There are also hidden costs - insurance, registration, equipment, etc.
You can see that, with our monthly subs rate of £9 per swimmer, funding these things is a LOT of money!
These donations also help us to keep the teachers and poolside helpers in professional clothing.
